History and General Information

The Department of journalism was founded in 1994.

Today, there are 3 professors, 1 doctor of Science, 2 candidates of Science, 1 PhD doctor, 1 associate professor, 4 Masters.

There are 2 winner of grant “Excellent Teacher of the University”.

Digital radio “Yassavi FM” began its work for the first time in our educational institution. A radio studio was reorganized and created, located on the basis of our university. The opening ceremony of the studio was attended by the chairman of the Representative Council of our university, Mukhittin Shimshek, rector Zhanar Temirbekova, representative of the rector Peyami Battal, vice-rectors, deans, teachers and students of the Faculty of Journalism, as well as specialists from the Center for Media and PR. The heads of the university cut the film of the radio studio and got acquainted with its work. A radio studio specialist spoke about the work process, the features of digital radio, the editing method and methods of recording sound, and the authors of the program spoke about their projects. Today, students study science, culture, art, sports, etc. based on their interests. a program in areas has been developed. Digital radio broadcasts in Kazakh and Turkish. In order to fully explain the work, during the opening ceremony, Alpysbayeva Agaisha, presenter of the digital radio “Yassavi FM”, conducted a live interview with the Chairman of the Representative Council of our university, Mukhittin Shimshek.

The university management, having become familiar with the work of digital radio, encouraged active students by saying that they would consider an internship at a well-known media company in Turkey.
