History and General Information

Since 1987, in all medical institutions of the Soviet government, in order to raise the first sanitary-medical aid to a higher level, the department of internal medicine was separated from it, and the departments of clinical therapy were opened. In 1995/96, according to the decision of the Health Committee of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Department of Clinical Therapy was assigned the task of training family and general practitioners. In this regard, the Department of "Family Medicine and Clinical Therapy" was opened for the first time at the Faculty of Medicine of the University (Decision of the Senate dated 17.05.96, Order of the Rector N1-458 dated 14.08.96).

The department is headed by M.D., professor N. Tuzelbaev. organized and managed from the first day. Candidates of science, docents, experienced doctors with a lot of practical experience worked in the department. They are: M.Sc., associate professors Kazbekova K., Bibolova A., Anarbaev A., Ilashev A., Abuova G. and assistants Berdalieva F., Zhaksybaev A. (until 2006), Baimuratova B., Kaynazarova U., Umeshova Sh. (until 2004).

2005-2006 - 2007-2008 academic year In the department, the departments of therapeutic family medicine and clinical therapy, internal medicine were combined, and included internal diseases, clinical therapy, endocrinology, clinical allergology, physiotherapy, emergency aid, social medicine, occupational diseases, therapeutic nutrition, dermatovenerology, and management subjects. The department includes M.Sc., professors Baidaulet I., M.Sc., associate professors K. Kazbekova, A. Bibolova, R. Bekturganov, M.Sc., Assoc. M.A. Sartaeva K., Iskandirova E., Shagieva G., M.Sc. Bekenov N., Sultanbekova G. entered.

The department was considered a graduate team. In the department, general practitioner, therapist-doctor interns are trained according to qualification requirements. Our graduates are working as doctors in all fields of medicine in Turkey, Russia and the Republic of Kazakhstan. 2012-2013 academic year the name of the department was changed to "General medical practice and emergency care", classes are held in the subjects of ambulatory care, urgent and emergency medical care, emergency care, general medical practice (GP), internal medicine (GP), children's diseases (PG). 

In the 2013-2014 academic year, the name of the department was changed to "General medical practice" due to the transfer of the "Ambulance" subject to another department.
From 2015 to 2019, the department was headed by Candidate of Medical Sciences A. A. Sarieva, Candidate of Medical Sciences B. K. Zhunisov, Doctor of Medical Sciences A. Sh. Sadykova. Since the academic year of 2019, the head of the department has been M.Sc. KT Kulaev was appointed. Today, the department provides education on specialties 5В130100 «General medicine» internship and 7R01114 –«Radiology» 1 doctor of medical sciences, 9 candidates of medical sciences, 4 senior teachers, 11 teachers work in the department.
