History and General Information

Department of "Physical Culture" is one of the university structures where the best specialists of various fields of sports are gathered, who are competitive, have developed personal qualities, are deeply educated, have a high ability of creative professional thinking, are rich in scientific and social character.

In the 2000-2001 academic year, the department was established as a department for training specialists of "Physical education teachers and sports" under the name 6B01405- "Physical education culture and sports" within the faculty of history and philology. From the 2001-2002 academic year, the Faculty of "Sports and Art" became an independent faculty, including the departments of "Physical training and sports, Primary military training".

From the 2011-2012 academic year, it was changed to the "Physical Culture" department, which prepares "Physical training and sports" and "Primary military training" specialties.

The department was one of the centers that trained world, international and republican champions at the highest level.
