History and General Information

The department was established on September 1, 2014 under the name "Physical Education".

Today, the department is headed by PhD senior teacher Rakhimzhanov Alpamys Oryntayuly. On October 10, 2023, the name of the department was changed to "Physical education and initial military training" by Protocol No. 2. Starting from the 2023-2024 academic year, a bachelor of education will perform his professional activities in the field of education according to educational programs 6B01485 - "Physical training and initial military training" and 6B01404-"Primary military training".

Physical education classes are conducted on the basis of a standard program for 1st and 2nd year students of all specialties of the university. "Physical education and initial military training" department has 19 professors. They are 1 Honored Sports Figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor, 1 Merited Trainer of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor, 1 Ph.D., Associate Professor, 1 PhD Associate Professor, 1 PhD Senior Lecturer, 1 Honored Sports Figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Associate Professor, 1 Colonel, Senior Lecturer, 2 Senior Lieutenant Colonel teacher, 10 senior teachers, 1 senior laboratory technician. At the same time, 1 USSR master of sports of the above-mentioned teaching staff. Today, the total number of professors with scientific titles teaching in this department is 5, the percentage of scientific degrees is 50%.

The professor-teaching staff has passed qualification improvement courses in accordance with international requirements in the field of physical education and primary military training specialties. In addition, he improved his qualifications in "Teaching and evaluation of distance education technologies" and "Inclusive education".
In case of changing the educational format to the online form, the department has fully prepared the content of the OPK subjects and uploaded it to the https://portal.ayu.edu.kz module. Mid-term control tasks, exam tickets for the subject were conducted in the form of a checklist and 100% completed in accordance with the requirements of the university.
