History and general information

The Department of Fine Arts was founded in 2004. The department trains specialists in educational programs of 3 bachelor's degrees, 1 master's degree. 

Educational programs:

  • 6b02126 - Design
  • 6b01478 - Artistic work and graphic design
  • 6b02184 - Decorative and applied arts
  • M007- Fine Arts and Drawing (Master's degree)

According to the staff of the department, there are 19 teaching staff. Of these, 2 candidates of Sciences, Associate Professor, Associate Professor (HAC); 4 PhD, senior lecturer; 6 senior lecturers, 7 masters. The department also employs 1 laboratory assistant, 2 masters of training, 1 engineer, 1 head of the workshop. The academic degree of the department is 40%. The department employs a member of the Union of Designers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ph.D., associate Professor E.B.Auelbekov, PhD E.K.Rysymbetov, members of the Union of Designers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, senior teachers E.Mambetaev, A.Sadibek, M.Shakhanbayev, A.Nakbayeva, N.Auelbekov, S.Altyshev, member of the Union of Artisans M.Aidarsha, etc..

The department conducts classes in the following specialties: painting, drawing, art history, art, design, sewing workshop, carpentry, metal workshop. Workshops and special classrooms are equipped and decorated at the current level of requirements. The university organizes creative exhibitions of teaching staff and students of the department. Students are engaged in research work and actively participate in scientific conferences.

Graduates of the Design educational program perform design services at public and private enterprises in the field of design or creative and pedagogical services in higher, secondary and special educational institutions.

Graduates of the educational program "Art work and graphic design" are preparing to work as teachers of the subjects "Art work", "Fine Arts", "Drawing", "Graphics and design" in secondary schools, pedagogical professional activity in special professional educational institutions in the fields of fine arts. Bachelor's degree specialists can continue their scientific and pedagogical education according to the Master's degree program M007 –"Fine Arts and Drawing". Graduates of this educational program can pursue scientific and pedagogical and scientific and creative positions in universities, vocational and pedagogical colleges.

Graduates of the educational program "Decorative and Applied Arts" are awarded the qualification "Artist of decorative art". Graduates are engaged in artistic activities and creativity necessary for various spheres of the national economy. The educational program also serves to introduce young people to the arts in the field of tapestry, shea, looms, etc.
