The Department of Fine Arts was founded in 2004. The department trains specialists in educational programs for 3 bachelors.

The department staff includes 20 faculty members. Among them are: 1 Candidate of Sciences, Associate Professor; 4 PhD holders, Senior Lecturers; 3 Honored Cultural Workers of the Republic of Kazakhstan; 8 Senior Lecturers; and 4 Master’s degree lecturers. Additionally, the department employs 1 laboratory assistant, 2 workshop masters, 1 procurement specialist, and 1 workshop manager. The academic degree rate of the department is 40%.

Masadikova, A.M. Erdenova, G. Koshenova; Honored Cultural Workers of Kazakhstan — E. Mambetayev, M. Aydarsha; Senior Lecturers — A. Sadibek, M. Shakhanbayev, A. Nakbayeva, G. Abdullayeva, K. Kasimbekova, M. Seysembekova, D. Esenaleyeva, M. Mateyeva; Master lecturers — S. Ergeshova, N. Auelbekov, S. Kinabayev, S. Altyshev, M. Dosankulova, who all work diligently.

Classes in specialized disciplines are held in workshops of painting, drawing, art history, fine arts, design, sewing, and woodwork. The workshops and special classrooms are equipped and decorated in accordance with modern standards. The university organizes creative exhibitions of faculty and students. Students are engaged in research activities and actively participate in scientific conferences.

The “Design” educational program aims to train qualified specialists capable of developing research-based products, transforming design into a model with scientific and aesthetic criteria, and mastering skills in fashion design. Students learn how to create harmonious and beautiful spaces, apply new methods, types, and tools of artistic design, and develop new models, prototypes, and projects of design and construction items using modern innovative technologies.

The “Art Work and Graphic Design” and “Art Education (IR)” programs prepare graduates to work as teachers of subjects such as “Art Work”, “Fine Arts”, “Drawing”, “Graphics and Design”, Technology Education, Household Culture, Culinary Arts, Material Processing and Practicum, etc. in general education schools. They are also trained to become professional pedagogical specialists in vocational art education institutions. Graduates with a bachelor's degree may continue their scientific and pedagogical studies under the master’s program M007 — “Fine Arts and Drawing”. Graduates can work in higher education institutions, professional pedagogical colleges, and engage in scientific, pedagogical, and creative work.

Graduates of the “Decorative and Applied Arts” educational program carry out their professional activities by creating unique works of decorative art using folk art traditions, national and international experience, and modern achievements. They acquire theoretical and practical knowledge and technologies of decorative and applied arts and are trained to produce decorative art works and carry out creative tasks as competitive specialists.
