Public health and scientific research

The Department of Preventive Medicine was established in the 2013–2014 academic year. From the time of its establishment until September 2024, the department was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences Ainash Kenesbaevna Kuandykova.

In the 2024–2025 academic year, due to structural changes within the Faculty of Medicine, the name of the department was changed from the Department of Preventive Medicine to the Department of Public Health and Scientific Research, and PhD, Senior Lecturer Balnur Adilbekkyzy Omarova was appointed as the Head of the Department.

Since March 3, 2025, the position of Acting Head of the Department has been held by Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Raushan Kenesbaevna Kuandykova.

In the 2025–2026 academic year, the Department of Public Health and Scientific Research employs 2 Doctors of Science, 5 Candidates of Science, 2 PhDs, 1 Senior Lecturer, and 6 Masters–Lecturers.
