Achievements

• In accordance with Order No. 378 dated March 20, 2023, senior lecturer of the department G. N. Asanova was awarded the academic title of Candidate of Biological Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan by decision of the Center for the Bologna Process and Academic Mobility of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The corresponding certificate No. 0002017 was issued.

• In 2018, B. A. Omarova, master–lecturer of the department, under the supervision of Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor M. A. Buleshov, successfully defended her PhD dissertation on the topic: “Current trends in children’s health status and ways to address them at the regional level (South Kazakhstan region)”.

• F. N. Sarzhanov was awarded the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical Microbiology by decision of the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Turkey dated August 6, 2020.

• Within the framework of the Orkhun Academic Mobility Program under the Union of Turkic Universities, PhD, senior lecturer Balnur Adilbekkyzy Omarova visited Ege University (Turkey), where she became acquainted with the activities of the Department of Public Health, the Department of Parasitology, the Department of Occupational Safety and Labor Protection, and the Department for Employee Rights. She gained valuable professional experience and established academic partnerships.

• Thanks to the active work of the department’s teaching staff, educational and methodological manuals have been published. Methodological seminars and round-table discussions are regularly organized to ensure continuous professional development.

• In the 2023 academic year, under the educational program 8D10111 – “Public Health”, master–lecturer U. S. Shaikhattarova was admitted to doctoral studies.

Scientific Projects:

• The department’s faculty members are authors of numerous publications, including several articles published in scientific journals indexed in Scopus, Elsevier, Thomson Reuters, and Web of Science, recommended by the Committee for Quality Assurance in the Field of Education and Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

• From 2012 to 2014, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor I. S. Moldaliyev served as the project leader of a scientific grant on the topic: “Development of immunodiagnostics and differentiated approaches to the etiopathogenetic therapy of brucellosis under temporary intoxication with heavy metal salts.”

• According to the decision of the Republican Commission on Training Personnel Abroad, 183 citizens of Kazakhstan became holders of the international “Bolashak” scholarship. Among them, 33 Kazakhstani scientists received grants for research internships in leading global scientific centers in strategically important fields of science and the economy.

Two faculty members from our department were among the scholarship recipients:

1. PhD, Senior Lecturer Balnur Adilbekkyzy Omarova, Head of the Department of Public Health and Scientific Research, Faculty of Medicine.
2. PhD, Acting Associate Professor Fakhriddin Nurmakhamedovich Sarzhanov, Head of the Department of Fundamental Sciences, Faculty of Medicine.

Our colleagues received placements at the University of California, San Diego (USA) in the research fields of Public, Environmental, and Occupational Health and Microbiology. Thus, they were given the opportunity to undergo a one-year scientific internship at one of the world’s leading universities.

We sincerely congratulate our colleagues on receiving the Bolashak International Scholarship and wish them success in their future scientific and professional endeavors!

• In the 2025–2026 academic year, under the educational program 8D10111 – “Public Health”, two master–lecturers of the department, Lazzat Kenesbekovna Nazarova and Ayzamat Maratuly Shoibek, were admitted to doctoral studies. We wish our young researchers great success on their scientific journey!
