The history of the department and general information

The Department of Preventive Medicine was established in the 2013–2014 academic year. From its establishment until September 2024, the department was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences Ainash Kenesbaevna Kuandykova.
In the 2024–2025 academic year, due to structural changes within the Faculty of Medicine, the department was renamed the Department of Public Health and Scientific Research. PhD, Senior Lecturer Balnur Adilbekkyzy Omarova was appointed as the Head of the Department.
As Balnur Adilbekkyzy Omarova left for an international internship under the “Bolashak” program, from March 3, 2025, the duties of Acting Head of the Department have been assigned to Raushan Kenesbekovna Kuandykova.
In the 2025–2026 academic year, the Department of Public Health and Scientific Research employs 2 Doctors of Science, 5 Candidates of Science, 2 PhD, 1 Senior Lecturer, and 6 Masters–Lecturers.
