About us

The Kentau Institute was opened in 1993 as a Kentau department at the Faculty of Medicine and Ecology; in 1994, the Faculty of Arts was added to the Kentau Department. The first vice-president of the department is Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor M. Rysuly. After that, this position was occupied by 1. Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Academician A. Rakyshov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, 2. Professor A. Baeshov, 3. Doctor of Medical Sciences. Associate Professor Yu. Moldaliev. From 2003 to 2008 Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Zh.K.Onalbek, from 2008 to 2013 Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor B.K. Mukhamedzhanov, from 2013 to 2018 Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor K.M. Berkimbaev, from 2018 until 2021. Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Usenbek Rakhmet, since 2021 Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor K.M. Berkimbayev were the director of the Kentau campus. The Kentau campus employs 60 employees. Employees of the information technology (information resources) department in the administration: head -1, software engineer -1, library staff -4, teaching staff -2, accounting -2, in the economic service: leading energy engineer -1, engineer-1 and maintenance assistants 47.
Students from the Faculty of Engineering and the Preparatory Center attend lectures on the Kentau campus. The material and technical base of the campus, the potential of specialists meet the requirements of the state standard of compulsory education, and complete conditions have been created for students. 3 educational buildings and a dormitory with 400 seats for students, sports and gymnasiums, musical instruments for meetings and various events, an assembly hall equipped with an LED screen, computer classes connected to the Internet, special laboratories, modern electronic textbooks for conducting the educational process, All classes are equipped with multimedia devices (projector and marker boards), 50 lecture rooms with interactive whiteboards. The faculty has a medical service point for students and trainees, a library, and canteens. All buildings are provided with high-speed Internet and Wi-Fi networks. The library collection contains about 45,000 books. The increase in the book fund provides ample opportunities for teaching students and listeners.
In addition, all buildings are equipped with CCTV cameras and turnstile devices to control entry and exit.
 

Services

- Organises the proper conduct of the academic process by the students of the Faculty of Engineering and Pre-University (Preparatory Centre) of the University;
- Organises, supervises work on proper maintenance of educational and dormitories;
- Gives recommendations to the rectorate for capital and reconstruction, construction works;
- Ensures the safety of valuable material valuables in the buildings;
- Monitors the technical condition of equipment in the buildings;
- Ensures economical and safe operation of lighting, heat supply, ventilation equipment of buildings;
- Gives recommendations to the rectorate on the development of work on the wide use and modernisation of new types of technical base in the educational process, introduction of new technologies;
- Provides systematic functioning of technical devices (internet communication, computers, testing software, systematic operation of video surveillance cameras, electricity and music, sound devices) in the organisation of credits, examinations, attestations, state examinations and various meetings and events on disciplines;
- Provides conditions for the health of students (medical centres);
- Monitors the progress of educational work;
- Organises quality library services;
- Proposes to replenish the library fund with modern books;
- Ensures proper operation of video surveillance cameras, access control (turnstiles) and sound devices related to anti-terrorist measures in the buildings.
- Monitors compliance with labour and safety measures, fire safety, sanitary and hygienic measures;
