“Stalking and Cyberbullying: Protecting Personal Space”

At Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University, Faculty of Education and Humanities, an important event entitled “Stalking and Cyberbullying: Protecting Personal Space” was organized by PhD, Acting Associate Professor Gulzhan Temirsharovna Abdullina for the students of group GBP-511. In today’s digital era, a smartphone is not only a means of communication but also an area of significant responsibility. During the event, students were introduced to the concept of stalking, and the distinction between expressing interest and violating personal boundaries was discussed. In addition, preventive measures against cyberbullying and strategies for responding to online aggression and digital attacks were examined. Students received essential information on protecting personal boundaries, account security, and the fundamental principles of digital hygiene.

In her concluding remarks, Gulzhan Abdullina emphasized that stalking is not romantic behavior but a violation of the law. If someone tracks another person without consent, sends messages from fake accounts, or monitors geolocation, it constitutes harassment. Cyberbullying, she noted, is not merely a “different opinion,” but a form of moral abuse involving intimidation, reputational damage, or psychological pressure online.

The event was aimed at enhancing digital safety and strengthening the legal awareness of young people.
