About Us

The Faculty of Sport was founded in 2001 as the Faculty of “Sport and Art” and is one of the faculties that made a significant contribution to enhancing the university’s reputation in the field of “Sport and Art”. This faculty, which has occupied an important place in the history of the university’s development, for many years has been committed to advancing the “Sport and Art” sector through high-quality education and research activities.

Currently, at the Faculty of Sport there are 2 departments and education is conducted in 4 programmes for the training of highly qualified specialists. The Faculty of Sport is a modern educational institution preparing highly qualified specialists in the field of sport. Here, alongside theoretical knowledge, great attention is paid to practical sports skills as well.

The teaching and professor-research staff of the Faculty of Sport consists of high-level specialists. The faculty includes 6 professors, 3 associate professors (docents), 2 senior lecturers with a PhD, 2 Honoured Coaches of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 4 Honoured Sports Figures of the Republic of Kazakhstan and senior lecturers who are fruitfully working. In accordance with the peculiarities of the specialties, for our athletes there are equipped halls for artistic gymnastics, boxing, basketball, volleyball, wrestling and taekwondo.

Our faculty graduates work successfully in the sports industry across the country and abroad. They represent the name of Kazakhstan on international sports arenas in various sporting games. The high sporting achievements of students are a clear indicator of the faculty’s educational quality. The Faculty of Sport is a major scientific-educational centre aimed at developing the sports sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The faculty, in addition to preparing new personnel in the field of sport and health, also makes a substantial contribution to the development of sports culture.
