SCIENTISTS FROM AKHMET YASSAWI UNIVERSITY HAVE LAUNCHED A SOLAR POWER PLANT
Initially, a 10 kW solar power station was planned as part of a special grant project from the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. However, the university leadership allocated additional funds to this fundamental project that combines education and science, leading to the installation of a more powerful solar panel at the university parking lot.
The solar power plant is set to make a significant contribution to the process of training future engineers and technicians. Students will engage in research activities such as measuring the performance of solar panels, studying the effect of solar angle, and analyzing the impact of temperature and dust. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to organize project and laboratory work by optimizing panel placement, using efficient converters, integrating storage systems, and incorporating solar energy into physics, engineering, and ecology lessons. They will also gain experience in conducting economic and environmental analysis, as well as working with digital management systems.
Young researchers will be able to monitor and control the operation of the solar power station using the SolarMan SMART platform. This system allows for real-time tracking of inverter performance, data analysis, fault detection, and remote control. The SolarMan SMART server provides full information about real-time performance, produced and consumed energy, and system efficiency.
One of the main advantages of the solar power station is increasing the campus's energy independence and using environmentally friendly energy sources. Such projects help students develop their research skills, link theoretical knowledge to practical applications, and understand the importance of renewable energy sources.
Scientists at Akhmet Yassawi University believe that this project will serve as a bright example of introducing green energy and sustainable development principles at higher education institutions in the country.
