Two patients who complained of esophageal achalasia, a type of disease rare in society, were admitted to the Turkish Afyonkarahisar State Hospital.

After the examination, a specialist in gastroenterology surgery Dr. Melih Jan Gul and his team operated on two patients at the hospital.

These patients with achalasia, which occurs in one in 300 thousand people in society, recovered their health after a successful operation.

In this hospital, patients were operated on using the laparoscopic (closed) method for the first time.

Dr. Melih Jan Gul is a 2014 graduate of the Medical Faculty of our university.
