AN ENRICHING EDUCATIONAL TRIP: PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT AND LIFE GUIDANCE
On September 19, faculty members of the Faculty of Theology at Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University — Mustafa Dogan Karajoshkun, Kolegen Gulbazar, and Zhanykulov Nurlybek — accompanied fourth-year students of the Psychology and Religious Studies programme on an educational trip to Shymkent.
An important part of the trip was a meeting with Latipsha Asanov, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Türkiye for the Turkistan Region and the city of Shymkent. The meeting provided an opportunity for a meaningful exchange of views on the historical friendship and cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Türkiye, national values, and the importance of science and education. Opportunities for students to pursue their studies in Türkiye were also discussed, and a willingness to support young people interested in further education was expressed.
Throughout the trip, students engaged in informal discussions with their lecturers and received valuable insights into student life, life experience, professional responsibility, and setting goals for the future. The meeting was particularly enriching thanks to the practical advice and life guidance shared by lecturers with professional experience in the psychology of religion and related psychological fields.
Beyond the formal meeting, spending time together helped strengthen mutual understanding and trust between students and lecturers, creating opportunities for open and friendly communication. The participants took a walk in a park and later spent time together at an entertainment centre, where students were able to interact with their lecturers in a relaxed setting and further strengthen their relationships.
Such educational experiences help students develop essential life skills, cultivate effective communication, foster a psychologically supportive environment, and build confidence as they move towards their future goals.
