History and General Information

The Department of Theology was opened in 2021 as a new department within the Faculty of Theology. The Department of Theology currently employs 13 teachers. Of these, 1 professor, 6 PhD senior lecturer, 6 masters. The department holds a leading position in the training of theological specialists in the country. The percentage of the scientific potential of the department is 55%. 

The teaching staff of the department actively participates in scientific conferences of international and national scale. It also contributes to the holding of other international scientific and practical conferences.

The department has signed memorandums of cooperation with the universities of Marmara (Istanbul), Erciyes (Kayseri), Ondokuz Gijs (Sivas), etc. As foreign educational, research, and internship bases.

The department develops specialists in educational programs for 2 bachelors (6b02229-Theology, 6B02266-Islamic Studies), 1 master's degree (7m02262-Theology).In the 2022-2023 academic year, the educational program 6b02266-Islamic Studies (joint) was opened, students were accepted.

Students constantly take prizes at the republican student subject Olympiads on educational programs 6b02229-Theology. 

In August 2023 5 teaching staff of the Theology Department took advanced training courses at the Institute of Islamic Thought in Ankara, Turkey.
