History and General information
The Department of Theology was opened as a new department within the Faculty of Theology in 2021. Currently, 13 teachers are working in the Department of Theology. Among them, 1 professor, 1 associate professor, 6 PhD senior lecturers, 5 masters. The department takes a leading position in training theological specialists in the country. The percentage of scientific potential of the department is 61%.
The teaching staff of the department actively participates in international and national scientific conferences. It also contributes to the holding of other international scientific and practical conferences.
The department has signed memorandums of cooperation with Marmara (Istanbul), Erciyes (Kayseri), Ondokuz Mayis (Sivas) and other universities as foreign educational, scientific research, training bases.
Specialists are trained in 2 bachelor's (6B02229-Theology, 6B02266-Islamic studies), 1 master's (7M02262-Theology) educational programs in the department.
In the academic year 2022-2023, the educational program 6B02266-Islamic Studies (Joint) was opened and students were accepted.
Students regularly win prizes in Republican student subject Olympiads under 6B02229-Theology educational programs.
In August 2023, 5 teachers from the Department of Theology took a professional development course at the Institute of Islamic Thought in Ankara, Turkey.
