“Bring Peace to the Soul”
As part of the dual education programme, a seminar session on fairy tale therapy entitled “Bring Peace to the Soul” was held in the Psychological Counselling Room of Z. Tashenov Secondary School-Lyceum No. 23 IT. The event was organised by K. Otepova, a lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, Faculty of Education and Humanities Research. The main objective of the seminar was to promote students’ psychological well-being, improve their emotional state, help them gain a deeper understanding of their inner world, develop self-awareness, and foster positive emotions. The seminar also aimed to enhance students’ psychological awareness and strengthen their ability to recognise, understand, and manage their feelings.
During the seminar, students were introduced to the fairy tale therapy method and expanded their understanding of its psychological significance and educational potential. Discussions focused on how fairy tales can help individuals understand their inner feelings, relieve emotional tension, develop positive thinking, and adopt a more constructive attitude towards life situations.
During the practical part of the event, students completed various tasks and creative activities based on fairy tale therapy. They analysed the actions of fairy tale characters and evaluated their behaviour and emotions. Through the content of fairy tales, students also shared their thoughts on moral values, kindness, friendship, mutual understanding, trust, and patience. These activities helped develop students’ imagination, encouraged them to express their thoughts freely, and strengthened their ability to recognise emotions.
Particular attention was paid to combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience in accordance with the principles of dual education. Students explored ways of applying fairy tale therapy in school settings and discussed its effectiveness in supporting pupils’ emotional well-being, fostering positive relationships, promoting mutual respect, and improving the psychological climate in the classroom. The seminar also addressed ways to adapt fairy tale therapy to pupils’ age-related characteristics and incorporate it into educational and pastoral activities. Lecturer K. Otepova guided the students throughout the seminar, encouraging active participation, open expression of ideas, and the development of creative abilities. The students listened to one another, exchanged experiences, and gained a better understanding of the importance of applying psychological methods in practice.
In conclusion, the fairy tale therapy seminar entitled “Bring Peace to the Soul” helped increase students’ engagement, develop their emotional literacy, and strengthen their practical understanding of psychological methods. The event was aimed at enhancing the professional competencies of future specialists, deepening their understanding of children’s inner worlds, and developing the knowledge and skills necessary to support children’s psychological well-being.
Seminars of this kind provide a valuable foundation for students’ professional development, the enhancement of their creative potential, and the effective application of psychological methods in their future teaching careers.
