Today, a scientific seminar titled “Ancient and Medieval City of Otrar” was held at the Faculty of Education and Humanities. The seminar was conducted by Shynaz Almazuly, a lecturer of the Department of History. During the event, participants were presented with comprehensive information about the rich historical heritage of the Otrar settlement, including its stages of formation and development. In addition, the seminar covered the history of research on Otrar, the stages of archaeological excavations, and ongoing scientific studies. The speaker particularly emphasized the cultural and religious life of the city during the medieval period based on archaeological evidence. The seminar was based on the results of archaeological research conducted within the framework of the scientific program “Study of the Introduction and Spread of Islam in Kazakhstan Based on Archaeological and Written Sources” (BR28713129), funded by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the event, participants actively exchanged views, asked questions, and engaged in scientific discussion.
