DIPLOMAS AWARDED TO THE FIRST 21 EMBA GRADUATES

Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University held a graduation ceremony for the first graduates of the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) programme in Healthcare Business Administration, offered by the Faculty of Postgraduate Medical Education. A total of 21 graduates successfully completed the programme and received the degree of Master of Business Administration.

The ceremony was attended by the University Rector, Zhanar Temirbekova; Rector’s Representative Peyami Battal; Dean of the Faculty of Postgraduate Medical Education Zhanar Zhagiparova; faculty members; and graduates.

University Rector Zhanar Temirbekova congratulated the first graduates and highlighted the importance of the EMBA programme in preparing healthcare leaders and managers. In her speech, she noted that professional medical knowledge and practical experience alone are not sufficient for effective leadership. Today’s healthcare managers also need strategic thinking, organisational management skills, and the ability to work effectively with people. She encouraged the graduates to apply their newly acquired knowledge to the development of Kazakhstan’s healthcare system.

The Rector’s Representative, Peyami Battal, also extended his congratulations and emphasised the importance of lifelong learning and continuous improvement of management competencies. Drawing on his professional experience, he noted that additional management education creates new opportunities for career and professional development.

Of particular significance is the fact that the first cohort of EMBA students admitted in the 2025–2026 academic year includes graduates who received their medical education at our university and completed both undergraduate medical studies and residency training here. This reflects the university’s commitment to providing opportunities for continuous professional development, from medical education to the acquisition of leadership and management competencies in healthcare.

The EMBA programme in Healthcare Business Administration is designed to develop the competencies of healthcare organisation leaders and professionals aspiring to management positions. Its key areas include strategic management, leadership, financial management, and organisational administration.

During the ceremony, diplomas were presented to the graduates, who expressed their gratitude to the university leadership and faculty team for their support throughout the programme. In keeping with Kazakh traditions, the graduates were honoured with shapans (traditional robes) and presented with bouquets of flowers.

The graduation of the first EMBA cohort marks an important milestone for the Faculty of Postgraduate Medical Education and represents the first tangible outcome of its efforts to prepare healthcare professionals equipped with modern management knowledge and skills.
