History and General Information

The Department of Specialized Surgical Disciplines was established on September 22, 1999 at the educational and clinical base of the International Kazakh-Turkish University named Khoja Akhmet Yassawi in Shymkent. The first head of the department was appointed Doctor of Medical Sciences Baimagambetov A. K. and headed it until 2020. Since September 1, 2020, Candidate of Medical Sciences Kaldygozova Galiya Yerkimbekovna has been working.

The department trains specialists in educational programs of internship "5B130100-General Medicine" and residency: 

• 7R01119 – Otorhinolaryngology adult, children
• 7R01124- Adult Oncology
• 7R01120- Traumatology - orthopedics adult, children
• 7R01121- Urology and andrology adult, children
• 7R01115- Cardiac Surgery adult, children

Percentage indicator of the scientific potential of the department: 39.1%, of which doctors of sciences – 8.6%, candidates of sciences – 43.4%.
