The Department of Fine Arts was founded in 2004. The department trains specialists in educational programs for 3 bachelors.

Educational Programs:

A total of 18 academic staff members work at the Department in accordance with the approved staffing schedule. The staff includes 1 Candidate of Sciences and Associate Professor, 5 PhD holders serving as senior lecturers, 1 recipient of the title “Excellence in the Culture Sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” 5 senior lecturers, and 3 lecturer-level staff members holding master’s degrees. In addition, the Department employs 1 laboratory assistant, 2 training workshop technicians, 1 supply specialist, and 1 workshop manager. The proportion of academic staff holding academic degrees is 40%.

The Department’s academic staff includes E. B. Auelbekov, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, and member of the Union of Designers of the Republic of Kazakhstan; PhD holders E. K. Rysymbetov, G. G. Masadikova, A. M. Yerdenova, G. Koshenova, and G. Arystanova; M. Aydarsha, a recipient of the title “Excellence in the Culture Sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan”; senior lecturers A. S. Sadibek, A. Nakbayeva, K. Kasimbekova, M. Seisem bekova, and D. Yessenalieva; and lecturers holding master’s degrees S. Yergeshova, S. Kinabayev, M. Dosankulova, M. Abishova, and Zh. Baidauletov. These staff members make a significant contribution to the Department’s academic and creative activities.

Classes in specialized disciplines are conducted in dedicated studios and classrooms for painting, drawing, art history, fine arts, design, sewing, and woodworking. The workshops and specialized classrooms are equipped and furnished in accordance with modern requirements. Creative exhibitions featuring the work of the Department’s academic staff and students are regularly organized at the university. Students engage in research activities and actively participate in scientific conferences.

Educational Programme “Design”

The aim of the Design educational programme is to train qualified professionals capable of developing research-based products, transforming design concepts into models that meet scientific and aesthetic criteria, and acquiring professional skills in fashion design.

The programme develops the professional competencies required to achieve a high level of expertise in the design industry, including work in fashion houses. Students learn to create harmonious and aesthetically appealing spaces and to apply new methods, forms, and tools of artistic design. Through the use of modern innovative technologies, they develop new models, prototypes, layouts, and design projects for products and objects.

Educational Programmes “Artistic Labour and Graphic Design” and “Art Education (IP)”

Graduates of the Artistic Labour and Graphic Design and Art Education (IP) educational programmes are prepared for professional teaching careers in general education schools. They are qualified to teach subjects such as Artistic Labour, Visual Arts, Technical Drawing, Graphics and Design, Labour Education, Household Culture, Food Culture and Culinary Activities, Materials Processing and Practical Training, and other related disciplines. They may also work as professional educators in specialized vocational education institutions in the field of visual arts.

Bachelor’s degree graduates may continue their academic and professional development by enrolling in the M007 — Artistic Labour and Graphic Design master’s degree programme. Upon completion of the programme, graduates may pursue academic, teaching, research, and creative careers at higher education institutions and vocational pedagogical colleges.

Educational Programme “Decorative and Applied Arts”

Graduates of the Decorative and Applied Arts educational programme pursue professional careers in creating original works of decorative art, drawing on traditional folk art, national and international experience, and contemporary achievements in the field of art.

The programme aims to train competitive art professionals who possess theoretical and practical knowledge of decorative and applied arts, master relevant artistic technologies, and are capable of creating decorative artworks and implementing a wide range of creative projects.
