Achievements of the department
The achievements of the Department of Surgical Diseases are reflected in its efforts to advance scientific research, increase the number of scientific publications, train research personnel, develop educational and methodological materials, and strengthen international scientific cooperation.
Scientific Research Projects
One of the significant outcomes of the Department’s research activities is scientific project AP19678584, implemented between 2023 and 2025.
The project’s total funding amounted to 96,178,760.28 tenge. Its subject focuses on the study of metabolites for the early diagnosis of urolithiasis (urinary stone disease).
During the implementation of the project, activities were carried out to conduct scientific research and generate research findings.
Scientific Publications
The results of scientific publications and scientific-methodological works recorded in the 2024–2025 indicative report are as follows:
- Scientific publications indexed in Scopus – 10;
- Publications in scientific journals recommended by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan – 8;
- Publications in foreign journals – 9;
- Monographs – 1;
- Textbooks and teaching manuals – 3.
These indicators reflect the Department staff’s efforts to publish research findings, disseminate scientific knowledge, and develop educational and methodological resources.
Training of Research Personnel
One of the important outcomes of the Department’s academic and research activities is its contribution to training research personnel and supporting the professional development of researchers.
According to the data presented in the indicative report:
- Candidate dissertations – 14;
- Doctoral dissertations – 5;
- Master’s dissertations – 12.
These results demonstrate the importance of activities aimed at ensuring continuity in research and developing the potential of the scientific workforce.

The scientific activities of the Department’s staff focus on national and international publications, participation in scientific events, dissemination of research findings, and the development of educational and methodological materials.
