History and General Information

“The Department of Human Morphology and Physiology was opened as the Department of Normal and Topographic Anatomy and Operative Surgery at the founding of Turkestan University in 1991. Tusipbekova B.Sh., Ph.D., Associate Professor, was appointed the first head of the department. Among the teachers and professors of the department are Master of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Sakimbaev E.R., Professor of the Almaty Medical Institute A.R. The lectures were given by Rakyshev. In subsequent years, the department included the subject of histology. In 1997-1998, the head of the department was Master of Science, Associate Professor E.R. Sakimbaev.

In the 2001-2002 academic year, the department was named “Human Morphology”, the head of the department was Master of Science, Associate Professor S.A. Azhaev. In the 2003-2004 academic year, the subjects “General and social hygiene” were added to the department. At that time, the department was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor B.K. Kerimbekov. Starting from the 2004-2005 academic year, on October 28, 2004, the departments of normal physiology, medical biology and genetics were added to the department. By decision of the Senate meeting No. 1, the department was named “Human Anatomy and Physiology”. The department was headed by qualified teaching staff: Master of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor K.M. Khasenova, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor S. N. Zhumashov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor B.K. Zhunisov, Master of Science, Associate Professor Begaliev B.S., Bachelor of Technical Sciences, Professor M.A. K.K.Baitursynov, Ph.D. Ch.A.Tuktibaeva, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor M.I.Omaraliev.
