On August 25, 2013, based on the decision of the Academic Council of the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Akhmet Yasawi, the Department of "Special Clinical Disciplines" was opened at the Faculty of Medicine.  MD, Professor G.M. Elikbayev  was appointed the head of the department of "Special clinical disciplines". From September 1, 2014 to August 31, 2024, the Department was headed by Gulnaz Orazbekovna Nuskabayeva. During these periods, the department has achieved good results, including great attention to science. 3 doctoral students of the department successfully defended their doctoral dissertations and received a PhD degree, as a result, the degree of the department increased. During this period, a number of articles were published in journals indexed in the scientific information databases Scopus and Web of Science of Clarivate Analytics.
Since September 1, 2024, PhD, senior lecturer Sadykova Karlygash Zharylkasynovna  was appointed head of the department. Within the framework of the project of the grant funding program for "Scientific and (or) scientific and technical projects of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2025", the department has been implementing the scientific project AP19676909 "Study of nutrition, lifestyle and genetic aspects of compliance of patients with metabolic syndrome in a 10-year prospective study" since 2023. Within the framework of this project, 3 doctoral students carry out their scientific work.
The main purpose of the department is to train highly qualified competitive specialists in the field of healthcare, the formation and development of theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for future practical medical activities.
