HISTORY OF SIMULATION CENTERS
The Simulation Center of Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University dates back to the 2011–2014 academic year. Initially established as the “Practical Center,” it was aimed at developing the practical skills of medical students.
Starting from the 2015–2016 academic year, the center was renamed the “Simulation Center” and shifted its focus toward the application and development of simulation-based training technologies in medical education.
From 2013 to 2022, the center was headed by Candidate of Medical Sciences, Senior Lecturer Daniyar Saparkhanuly Rakhymberdiyev, while Sanzhugash Nurlybekkyzy Alipbekova headed the center during the 2023–2024 academic year.
Since September 2024, the Simulation Center has been headed by Erbol Nurillaevich Tulezhanov, Master of Public Health Management and Pedagogical Sciences, Senior Lecturer, and surgeon.
A NEW STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT SINCE 2024
Since 2024, a new stage of development has begun, focusing on expanding and modernizing the Simulation Center and aligning it with the requirements of modern medical education.
Based on the initiative of Center Director Erbol Nurillaevich Tulezhanov and the initial support of Gulnaz Orazbekkyzy Nuskabayeva, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Candidate of Medical Sciences and Professor, work has been initiated to bring the center’s educational environment as close as possible to a clinical setting, modernize its material and technical infrastructure, and expand practical training opportunities.
These initiatives are being implemented with the support of Zhanar Amangeldikyzy Temirbekova, Rector of Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University; Peyami Battal, Rector’s Representative; Elmira Kaisarbaykyzy Idrisova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs; Ainash Yesimbekkyzy Oshibayeva, Vice-Rector for Science and Strategic Development; Mustafa Giritlioglu, Vice-Rector for Finance and International Relations; and Ender Sayin, Secretary General.
INTERNATIONAL AND NATIONAL EXPERIENCE
In 2025, with the aim of developing the center and introducing advanced practices, the experiences of the simulation centers of Tashkent State Medical University, Acibadem University in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye, the Ankara Faculty of Dentistry, and Lokman University were studied.

In 2026, experience-sharing activities were carried out at the simulation centers of Karaganda Medical University and Astana Medical University. The practices studied are being taken into consideration in the process of developing the center’s new structure, educational environment, and material and technical infrastructure.

EXPANSION AND MODERNIZATION OF THE CENTER
With the support of the university administration, work has been initiated to expand the Simulation Center into a modern two-story educational and simulation facility.
Work is underway to make the new facility as close as possible to the clinical environment of healthcare organizations and to equip it with modern medical furniture, simulators, mannequins, phantoms, medical equipment, instruments, and medical consumables.
FUTURE DEVELOPMENT DIRECTION
The activities of the Simulation Center are not limited solely to the practical training of undergraduate students. As part of the center’s further development, it is planned to expand simulation-based training opportunities for the professional development and continuous professional education of physicians and nurses.
The main goal is to establish a comprehensive simulation-based education center that encompasses professional development from students to experienced healthcare professionals, provides an environment as close as possible to real clinical settings, and is equipped with modern technologies.
