History and General Information

Depending on the number of employees and the overcharged load of the subject, at the department of the Kazakh, Russian and English languages of the preparatory faculty, in order to optimize the educational process, English language is separated from the department (a protocol of a meeting №6 from 06.26.2015). It was reorganized in September 1, 2015.

The head of English department in 2015-2017 of academical year was PhD, Senior Lecturer Kuchukler Khalil Suleimanoglu.

The head of English department in 2017-2018 of academical year was PhD, Senior Meirbekov Akylbek Kairatbekovich.

From 2018 to 2020 of the academical year the Head of English language department, nominated Candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor Kenzhayeva Balnur Balabekovna.

From 01.03.2021 of the academical year the Head of English language department, nominated Master of Pedagogical sciences Mukhamedvaliyeva Zarina Askhatovna.

From 02.10.2023 of the academical year acting Head of English language department, nominated Master degree teacher Shafigulina Rozaliya.

From September 1, 2023, in connection with structural changes at the department of “Kazakh, Russian languages” on the basis of protocol No.1, the department of English language was replenished with the staff of teachers and professors teaching students of Kazakh nationality who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At the moment, in the English language department, students of Kazakh nationality who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and students of the Republic of Kazakhstan are receiving education aimed at improving the level of language training on the basis of a state grant. To enter higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, students prepare to take national unified testing in compulsory and core subjects of the general secondary education program.

The department has 24 employees: 16 masters (including 2 from the Republic of Turkey), 2 senior lecturers, 5 lecturers and 1 department assistant. At the department 5 teachers also have international certificates (IELTS, TOEFL).
English Department is one of the most competitive, multidisciplinary, creative-minded at the university, one of the highly educated university students, who speak English at the B1 level.

In the English language department, practical classes are held for students with books New Headway fourth edition Beginner A1, new Headway fourth edition Elementary A2, New Headway fourth edition Pre-Intermediate B1.

The teaching staff of the department develops the ability of students to speak and write in English using modern pedagogical methods. The department has a study group "Speaking club".
