"Training Center of terminological dictionaries and translations" of Khoja Ahmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University was established in Shimkent, on 15th of May, in 1995 as “Commission for the preparation of common terminological dictionaries of Turkic world.”

"Commission for the preparation of common terminological dictionaries of Turkic world." was transferred from Shimkent to Turkestan by the decision of the university rector. At the meeting of the Board of the Plenipotentiary Commission, it was renamed as the "Translation Centre", which continued the work of the commission in Turkestan from 1st December 1996 year.

It was renamed as "Centre for preparation of terminological dictionaries and translations" since 1999-2000 school years by the decision of the Senate 7 from 09/19/1999, short title: "Translation Centre".

By the order of University President, the head of «center for preparation of terminological dictionaries and translations" was appointed PhD, R.Zh.Ashimov since 16, 2003.
