Since the opening in 1991 at the International Kazakh-Turkish University named afterKhoja Ahmed Yasawi, the Faculty of Medicine was founded in the cities of Turkestan and Kentau under the leadership of the first dean, Professor E. Bekmuratov.
In 1995, students of the Faculty of Medicine began their studies from the 5th year on the basis of the medical and sanitary association "Phosphorus" located in the city of Shymkent
On May 19, 1996, by the decision of the 5th Mazhilis of the Intergovernmental Plenipotentiary Council of the University, a proposal was adopted to establish the "Institute of Social and Natural Sciences" in Shymkent
From 1997 to 2003, the position of dean of the Faculty of Medicine was headed by the director of the clinic of the medical and sanitary association "Phosphorus", Professor I. O. Baidauletov.
On January 10, 2003, by the decision of the 18th meeting of the Intergovernmental Plenipotentiary Council of the University of the Kazakh-Turkish Republics, the Shymkent branch was renamed into the Shymkent Branch of the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after A. Yasavi."
On July 25, 2003, by the decision of the 20th Mazhilis of the Board of the Intergovernmental Plenipotentiary Council of the University, the Shymkent branch was transformed into the Shymkent Institute of the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after A. Yasawi."
From 2003 to 2008, the dean of the Faculty of Medicine was Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor N.K.Tuzelbayev.
From 2008 to 2009, the dean of the Faculty of Medicine was Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor A. Z. Satkhanbayev.
On August 28, 2009, by the decision of the Mazhilis of the Senate No. 7 was renamed into the Shymkent Educational and Clinical Base of the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after A. Yasawi."
From 2009 to 2017, the director of the educational and clinical base was Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor R. S. Bekturganov.
On September 12, 2014, in accordance with the decision of the Mazhilis of the Senate 3.7, the educational and clinical base was renamed "Shymkent Medical Institute of the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after A. Yasawi."
From 2017 to 2018, the director of the Shymkent Medical Institute was Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor U. A. Zhumabayev.
In accordance with Protocol No. 9 of the extraordinary meeting of the Senate dated June 22, 2021, from September 01, 2021, it was decided to rename it again to the Shymkent Campus of the A.A. International Kazakh-Turkish University. Yasavi."
From 2021 to 2022, N.Zhanabayev was the director of the Shymkent campus
Since 2022, the director of the Shymkent campus has been PhD T. Anuarbek.
