It was discussed at the 53rd meeting of the Authorized Council on November 12, 2016, and approved by the Senate of the university on August 29, 2016. As a result of the decisions made at the first meeting, a dental faculty was opened at the university starting from the 2017-2018 academic year, along with departments of therapeutic and orthopedic dentistry, surgical and pediatric dentistry, laboratory disciplines, and human pathology as part of it. The head of the Department of Surgical and Pediatric Dentistry is PhD, F.T. Temurov, appointed to the position.

The Department of Surgical and Pediatric Dentistry provides training in both theoretical and clinical skills necessary for the preparation of future dental professionals. In specially equipped phantom classrooms and clinical bases, students enrolled in the educational program 6B10156-Dentistry are taught the following subjects: "Oral Hygiene," "Dental Anesthesia," "Prevention of Dental Diseases," "Pediatric Dentistry 1," "Orthodontics and Pediatric Prosthodontics," "Pediatric Dentistry," "Oral Surgery," "Radiological Diagnostics in Dentistry," "Diseases of the Oral Cavity, Teeth, and Jaws," "Dental Anesthesia," "General Oral Health," "Fundamentals of Clinical Orthodontics," "Implantology," and "Jaw and Facial Surgery."

Currently, the department is headed by PhD, senior lecturer Nursultan Seysenbayuly Nurdinov. The department consists of 13.25 staff positions, with 13 instructors: 1 professor, 2 medical science candidates, 3 senior lecturers, 6 master's level instructors, and 1 lecturer.
