Our History

Faculty of Dentistry on September 1, 2013, on the basis of the decision of the Senate of the International Kazakh-Turkish university named after H. A. Yasawi, the Department of "Dentistry" was opened as part of the Faculty of Medicine. At the 53rd meeting of the Plenipotentiary Council on 12.11.2016, the decisions taken at the 1st meeting of the University Senate on 29.08.2016 were discussed, as a result of which it was decided to open the Faculty of Dentistry at the University from the 2017-2018 academic year.  The faculty includes such departments as the Department of therapeutic and orthopedic Dentistry, the Department of surgical and pediatric dentistry, and fundamental Medical Sciences.

Currently, the faculty has 3 departments.

At the Faculty of Dentistry, students are taught by qualified teachers. Among them: 12 candidates of Science, 3 PhD Doctors, 11 Masters-senior teachers. At the same time, the teaching staff of the faculty conducts fundamental scientific research and has formed a stream of well-known scientists in their field. On grant funding of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan “development of a method for obtaining Nano-and micro-dimensional dispersed materials based on copper and zinc oxides by electrolysis in non-stationary conditions” 01.10.2020-01.10.2021. Nurdinov holds the position of project executor for the scientific and (or) scientific and Technical Project “study of nutritional characteristics, lifestyle and genetic aspects of compliance of patients with metabolic syndrome in AP19676909 - 10-year prospective study” for 2023-2025. Applications are submitted for the PCF project for the implementation of scientific and scientific–technical programs/projects on basic research/ applied research on the basis of Grant and program–targeted funding, researchers of the faculty will act as researchers in this project. There are no ongoing grant projects at the faculty, so the performance of joint research projects by students is low. In addition, teachers of the Department of laboratory disciplines of the Faculty of Dentistry N. S. Nurdinov's monograph "study of the effect of Mir-484 on proliferative indicators of primary and secondary glioblastoma cells" in the printing house "Turan" (Turkestan, 2024) and A. K. Mamyrbekova's monograph "Producing metal oxides by electrolysis under non-stationary conditions: monograph" in the Printing House "Alem (Shymkent, 2022). Teacher of the Department of laboratory disciplines candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Mamyrbekova Aizhan Kumekbaevna (in 2019) and teacher of the Department of laboratory disciplines Kh.candidate of Sciences, Associate Professor Mamyrbekova Aigul Kumekbaevna (in 2021) became the winners of the "best university teacher". Over the past 3 years, as a result of the work of such scientists, the faculty has published 17 articles in scientific journals with a high world rating, not counting monographs and manuals, 20 articles in publications recommended by the committee for control of Education and science of the Ministry of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Hirsch index indicators of our faculty are growing every year. In particular, the Hirsch index of 7 teaching staff is 4 and/or lower, and the Hirsch index of 1 Teacher of our faculty, associate professor Hassan Gundogar, is 7.
