History
The Philological Faculty was established in July 1991 as the Historical-Philological Faculty. The first dean of the faculty was Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor S. Maduanova, and in subsequent years, the faculty was led by Zh. Istaev, K. Atik, A. Abuov, Kh. Sever, K. Atik, V. Zhoshkun, K. Koch, K. Kadasheva, R. Taukebayeva, and N.K. Aitbaeva. Initially, the faculty was engaged in training researchers and educators proficient in one of the Eastern languages (Chinese, Persian, Arabic, and Turkish) in the fields of history and Kazakh language and literature. The faculty employed both domestic and foreign scholars, including D.Ph.Sc., Professor M. Myrzakhmetov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor M. Abiltayn, art figure, Professor R. Seitmetov, D.Ph.Sc., Professor Q. Qosanbaev, D.Ph.Sc. Q. Yergobekov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor G. Chandarlyoglu, C.Ph.Sc., Professor M. Yerzhanov, C.Ph.Sc. S. Nurmatov, C.Ph.Sc. Zh. Zhanpeyisova, C.Ph.Sc. S. Tashenov, C.Ph.Sc. T. Dauirbaeva. In the early stages, the faculty had departments of history and Kazakh language and literature, but in subsequent years, their number increased to ten. Since 2021, the faculty has been led by PhD, Associate Professor Abdulkadir Ozturk.
