Our History

History

The Faculty of Medicine within the university opened in 1991 and admitted 54 students for the first time. Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Bekmuratov E.B. was appointed dean of the first faculty. In subsequent years, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Zh.N. Shalharova, Ph.D., Zhunisov B.K. ., Ph.D., Associate Professor M.S. Zhunusov was in charge. Since 2018, the faculty has been headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor I. S. Moldaliev. During these years, many qualified specialists in their field taught at the faculty - scientists, head of the department of “surgical diseases”, doctor of medical sciences, professor Akhmetov M. M., head of the department of “Therapy”, candidate of medical sciences, professor Kalmurzina B. S., The first head of the department of “Pediatrics” is Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Askanbaeva K. Today, about 2,000 thousand students, undergraduates, and doctoral students study at the faculty in educational programs of all levels. Of these, representatives of 41 nationalities from 17 countries study. They are trained by about 150 teaching staff. To date, about 6,000 thousand highly qualified specialists have graduated from the faculty. Currently, the faculty includes 9 departments: morphology and human physiology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, special clinical disciplines, General surgery, emergency medical care, Pediatrics, Propaedeutics and internal research, Preventive medicine, surgical diseases.

To date, two grant research projects are being implemented under the leadership of faculty scientists. Under the guidance of Ph.D., Associate Professor Nuskabaeva G.O. project on the topic: “Studying special practices, lifestyles and genetic aspects of compliance of patients with metabolic syndrome in a 10-year prospective study”, with finances of 91,225,000 tenge and under the guidance of Doctor of Medical Sciences, K. K. Karimbaev “Definition of the spectrum and percentage of metabolites characteristic of the ureters, for the purpose of early diagnosis,” funds 96178760 tenge.

Over the past 5 years, 70 articles have been published in journals indexed by faculty scientists, 286 articles in other publications, and 156 articles in conferences. Over the past 5 years, students of the faculty have won 35 prizes at international subject Olympiads.
