Work with manuscripts

The Institute systematically works with manuscripts in Arabic, Persian, Kazakh, and Chagatai preserved in archival collections. Scientific descriptions of rare books and ancient manuscripts are prepared, and these materials are transformed into research objects. Activities are carried out to collect, preserve, classify, and introduce manuscripts and historical materials related to Turkology into scholarly circulation. The Institute also addresses issues of reading, transcribing, translating, and conducting textual analysis of ancient texts.
