History and General information

In light of the implementation of the innovative concept of higher medical education on September 1, 2013, by the decision of the Academic Council of the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after H.A. Yasawi, the Department of Human Pathology was organized as part of the Faculty of Medicine. The activities of the department are designed to ensure the unity and continuity of basic and postgraduate training in fundamental and clinical disciplines, to train future healthcare professionals in the ability to conduct evidence-based research to determine the principles, methods, and algorithms for the prevention and treatment of various forms of pathology. As of September 1, 2023, the head of the department became Master, Senior Teacher A.A. Kushkarova.

The educational process is provided by 15 highly qualified professors, associate professors, and teachers. The personnel composition includes 1 Doctor of Medical Sciences, 3 Candidates of Medical Sciences, and 4 Masters of Medicine. The department will train third and fifth-year students in "6B10155" of the Dental Faculty and "6B10156" of the Faculty of Medicine. Classes are conducted in the following disciplines: "Pathological Physiology," "Pathological Physiology of Organs and Systems," "Pathological Anatomy," "Pathological Anatomy of Organs and Systems," "Pathologists, including Pathology of the Oral Cavity," "Forensic Medicine," "Medical Pathology," and "Introduction to Medical Practice." The clinical bases of the department are the Clinical Diagnostic Center of the university and the Regional Bureau of Pathological and Forensic Medical Examination.

Today, the department has high scientific potential. The degree of formality of the teaching staff is 20%. Recently, based on the results of research carried out at the department, 6 scientific articles have been published in journals included in the scientific information databases WOS, Elsevier, and Scopus. Employees of the department take an active part in the student scientific and practical conference held annually at the university. Every year, student scientific works are submitted to the republican competition of young scientists. It should be noted that medical students are participants and winners of conferences and subject Olympiads held both in the republic and neighboring countries.

Teachers of the department conduct educational work among third-year students of the Faculty of Dentistry and are curators of groups 301-311. Curators conduct open curatorial hours in accordance with the plan of educational work of the department. For the purpose of spiritual development of students, the following events are planned: "The Spiritual Future of Our Nation," "The Legacy of Abai is a National Treasure," "The Happiness of My Country is Independence," and “Eternal Nation - Eternal History.”
