Student Research Achievements at the XXXII Scientific-Theoretical Conference

Due to the organization of the ХХХІІ Scientific-Theoretical Conference held at the university, a regular student conference was conducted among the students of the Department of English Philology and Translation Studies. At this conference, based on the majority of the jury’s votes, 1st place was awarded to Dinara Áshimkhan, a student of group FAD-211B, with her research titled “The Attitudes and Perceptions of English Philology Students towards Translanguaging.”
Her scientific supervisor is PhD Senior Lecturer Vildan Inci Kavak.

Second place was shared by two students.
One of the second-place winners is Aigul Abinova, a student of group FAD-211A, with the research titled “English Philology Lecturers’ Use of ChatGPT in Higher Education: Practices, Challenges, and Students’ Attitudes toward Its Use.”
Scientific supervisor – PhD Senior Lecturer Vildan Inci Kavak.

Another second-place winner is Aygün Utku, a student of group FAF-211B, with the research titled “A Metamodernist Reading of J.G. Ballard’s High-Rise.”
Scientific supervisor – PhD Senior Lecturer Enes Kavak.

Third place was awarded to three students.
The research titled “Features of Translating the Animated Film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse: Interpretation of American Culture in the Kazakh Language” earned Ayalym Besken, a student of group FAD-311F, a third-place prize.
Scientific supervisor – Instructor A. Aitzhan.

Another third-place winner is Akniet Beksultan, a student of group FAD-411F, with the research titled “The Impact of Accent Differences on Communication Between British and American English Speakers.”
Scientific supervisor – Senior Lecturer M. Sherimbetova.

The third third-place winner is Maida Sarsenbai, a student of group FAD-411F, who presented the research “The Impact of Translation on the Global Music Industry and Its Importance.”
Scientific supervisor – PhD Senior Lecturer G.T. Sheriyeva.
