The university hosted the 5th meeting of the Senate 2019-2020 academic year. The meeting was attended by members of the Senate, directors of research institutes, deans of faculties, heads of departments and heads of centers and departments. There were 6 questions on the agenda. In total, about 20 questions were considered.
The following issues were included on the agenda of the Senate meeting: report on the administrative and financial activities of the university for 2019; business planning and approval for 2020; summing up the work under the program “Spiritual Revival” and events dedicated to the Year of Youth; tasks set for the upcoming “Year of the Volunteer – 2020”; report on the results of grant research; applying for a grant in the 2nd semester of the 2019-2020 academic year; the appointment of candidates for scholarships established by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the second semester of the 2019-2020 academic year; other questions.
Rector B. Abdrasilov in his opening speech congratulated the faculty and members of the Senate on the New Year and noted the achievements of our university in 2019:
– 150 university teachers won grants for teaching English, 105 million tenge were received. At the end of the course, teachers receive an IELTS 6.0 level, while increasing the number and quality of our publications, we received the title “Breakthrough 2019” from Elsevier. In addition, for the first time at the annual exhibition organized by the Science Foundation, MPs, government and public figures, business representatives and scientists were presented the results of two commercialization projects developed at our university. To receive from the university, young scientists submitted 22 research projects for 2020-2022, 11 of which are currently awaiting approval by the National Scientific Committee. In December, we launched SciVal, the world’s leading analytics platform. This program helps to increase the scientific potential of our scientists. Also, 6 of our teachers were named the best teachers of the university in 2019. The winners of state scientific scholarships and state scholarships of 2019 were determined. Two leading scientists and two young scientists from our university became the holders of these scholarships.
