On August 6, 2020, an online conference was held on the development of the clinical and diagnostic center of the Ahmed Yassawi University. The online conference was attended by the Chairman of the Plenipotentiary Council of the University Professor Mukhittin Shimshek, President of the University B. Abdrasilov, I Vice President Сengiz Tomar, as well as doctors and staff of the Clinical Diagnostic Center. The meeting discussed issues of improving the material and technical base of the clinic, providing new medical equipment, training highly qualified personnel and using the Turkish experience in the clinic’s work.
At the online conference, the Chairman of the Plenipotentiary Council, Professor Mukhittin Shimsek, said that he met with the Minister of Health of the Republic of Turkey, Fahrettin Hoxha, to discuss ways to help build the capacity of the University clinic. The Ministry of the Republic of Turkey noted that they will provide all the necessary assistance to transform the medical center into a medical institution equipped with the latest technology, staffed by highly qualified specialists of the region.
University President Bolatbek Abdrasilov noted that the development of a clinical diagnostic center is one of the priorities of our university. He expressed his readiness to work with our Turkish colleagues on these issues.
In the second part of the online conference, Professor Recep Ozturk, member of the Scientific Council for Pandemic Control of the Ministry of Health of Turkey, presented the experience of combating the COVID-19 pandemic in Turkey. He also shared his experience of using Favipiravir, Lopinavir in Turkey for the treatment of patients with coronavirus infection. The issues of protecting employees working in infectious diseases hospitals and pharmacy centers, preventing the virus, as well as preparing hospitals for the second wave of the epidemic, providing the necessary equipment were discussed with the staff of the clinic. The conference ended with an exchange of views on the practical issues of treating patients with coronavirus infection and pneumonia.
