The book collection of the Faculty of Education and Humanities of Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University has been enriched with another valuable historical publication.

Abdykadir Zhurgенov worked at the Zhambyl Regional Party Committee from 1949 to 1975 and also held party and administrative positions in the Talas and Kordai districts. From 1975 to 1998, he taught history at the Zhambyl Institute of Irrigation and Land Reclamation, making a significant contribution to the study of the history of the region.

The scholar and researcher authored numerous academic and educational articles on the history of Kazakhstan, including the history of the Aulieata District of the Syrdarya Region and the history of present-day Zhambyl Region. He also conducted comprehensive research into the state and development of agriculture in Zhambyl Region during the period from 1946 to 1998.

The historical articles and research works written by the scholar over the years were collected and published in a book entitled “The Aulieata District — From the History of Zhambyl Region.” The valuable publication was donated to the Faculty of Education and Humanities by the author’s son, Nurzhan Abdykadyrovich Zhurgенov. One copy was transferred to the university library, while another was added to the faculty’s collection.

The book contains historical records, memoirs, essays and articles covering the nearly three-century struggle of the Kazakh people against the Dzungar invaders, the establishment of Soviet power in the Aulieata District, the activities of Bolshevik revolutionaries, the collectivization of agriculture in the region, and the contribution of the people of Zhambyl Region to the Victory during the Great Patriotic War.

The book was presented with the participation of E.U. Zulpykharova, Dean of the Faculty. It has been placed in the library collection of the office dedicated to Seitkhali Maduanuly at the faculty.

“The Aulieata District — From the History of Zhambyl Region” is a valuable historical and educational work aimed at studying the past of the native land and fostering historical awareness. The book will help students and young researchers gain a deeper understanding of the region’s history, work with historical sources, and enrich their academic research.
