Scientific Seminar on “Khoja Ahmed Yasawi: The Model of Perfection” Held
A scientific and educational seminar entitled “Khoja Ahmed Yasawi: The Model of Perfection” was held at the Faculty of Education and Humanities of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi International Kazakh-Turkish University.
The seminar was opened by Baurzhan Saifunov, PhD, Director of the Yasawi Studies Research Institute. In his opening remarks, he highlighted the main goals and objectives of the scientific seminar as well as its spiritual and educational significance. He particularly emphasized the relevance of studying Yasawi’s heritage from a contemporary perspective.
The keynote speaker was Professor Dosai Tursynbaiuly Kenzhetay, a prominent scholar in the field of Yasawi studies, widely recognized in both national and international academic circles, and Doctor of Philosophy and Theology. In his presentation, the scholar offered an in-depth analysis of various aspects of Yasawi’s teachings and their cultural dimensions.
Particular attention was paid to the epistemological dimension of Yasawi’s heritage. Noting that different forms of knowledge and interpretations frequently come into conflict in contemporary society, Professor Dosai Kenzhetay put forward the fundamental idea that “the core and foundation of scientific knowledge lie in epistemology.”
The scholar emphasized that Yasawi’s teachings should not be confined solely to the framework of Sufism or a mythological worldview. Instead, he presented them as a systematic intellectual and epistemological framework that leads toward genuine knowledge, conscious faith, and intellectual perfection.
Exploring the relationship between the concepts of “Human Being,” “Religion,” “Culture,” and “State,” Professor Dosai Tursynbaiuly provided a scholarly analysis of the place and interconnection of religious knowledge, tradition, language, ethics, aesthetics, music, and national values within Yasawi’s cultural heritage.
These thoughtful academic reflections and original insights broadened the scholarly perspectives of students and young researchers, providing them with significant intellectual inspiration for further research.
The seminar was attended by university researchers and faculty members, master’s students, senior undergraduate students, as well as researchers and members of the public interested in the heritage of Yasawi.
Following the presentation, participants asked questions concerning the value-based aspects of Yasawi’s teachings and engaged in a meaningful exchange of views.
Organized by the Yasawi Studies Research Institute, the seminar became a meaningful platform for academic dialogue, providing young scholars and students with valuable intellectual and spiritual enrichment and creating new opportunities for a deeper understanding of the heritage of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi.
