During the internship, the operational procedures of the MAKLAB laboratory, occupational safety requirements, and international conservation protocols for working with historical materials were studied. In addition, the scientific and methodological facilities of the laboratory were explored, along with modern methods and research approaches used in the study of historical materials.
The practical activities provided experience in the comprehensive documentation of historical materials, collection of empirical data, conducting laboratory research, processing the results of physicochemical analyses, and comparative evaluation of the data obtained. Particular attention was also paid to statistical processing of research results and methods for drawing scientific conclusions.
The international experience and modern laboratory methods acquired during the internship provide opportunities to improve scientific research in the fields of cultural heritage conservation, restoration, and archaeology. Furthermore, studying international practices contributes to strengthening the methodological foundation of domestic research projects and creates a basis for developing new approaches to the study and preservation of historical and cultural heritage sites.
