“HONORING THE WORKER: ‘LABOR’ PHOTO EXHIBITION HELD AT OUR UNIVERSITY”

Today, an “Labor” photo exhibition was held at our University in celebration of the initiative announced by the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, designating the Year of Working Professions, as well as in honor of December 16 – Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The photo exhibition is part of the “Labor” media project initiated by the University administration. It is a joint creative project of our University and the Beine.Pro online magazine.

The project aims to enhance the social status of working people, emphasize their role in society, and strengthen the prestige of working professions. It also seeks to promote a culture of labor among young people, highlight exemplary individuals, and showcase the important contribution of the University’s “invisible heroes” – its workers.

Opening the exhibition, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova noted that many important events of various formats and themes are held at the University, but today’s event holds special significance as it is being organized for the first time in the history of the institution. She expressed her satisfaction that the exhibition is taking place on the eve of Independence Day and within the framework of the President’s initiative on the Year of Working Professions.

She emphasized that nearly 400 workers are employed at the University, many of whom have been serving the institution for 10 to more than 30 years. For this reason, the project was especially dedicated to them. The Rector expressed her gratitude to the partners and students who contributed to the implementation of the project and stressed that the hard work, dedication, and honest labor of working professionals deserve deep respect. She thanked everyone whose efforts contribute to the development of the University.

Next, Rector’s Representative Naci Genc addressed the audience, congratulating everyone on the upcoming Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He emphasized that for independence to endure, the labor of specialists across various fields is of great importance. Alongside professions such as teachers and doctors, the tireless efforts and dedication of working professionals hold special value. He expressed his sincere respect and appreciation for their work.

Following the congratulatory remarks, the University administration presented working professionals with special Letters of Appreciation in recognition of their diligent work and contribution to the smooth daily operation of the institution.

Rector Zhanar Temirbekova and Rector’s Representative Naci Genc, together with honored guests, ceremonially cut the ribbon to officially open the photo exhibition.

The exhibition features photographs depicting the daily work of nearly 40 individuals. Special attention was given to employees working in the University’s technical and maintenance sectors. Among them are experienced specialists who have been working at the University for over 30 years since its establishment, boiler house and water facility operators, plumbers, cleaners, gardeners, irrigation workers, agricultural machinery operators, groundskeepers, carpenters, dormitory attendants, and other professionals.

It should be noted that the photographs were taken by students of the Faculty of Art, Media and Design, as well as by University photographer Nakyp Shyntemirov and Beine.Pro visual content producer and photojournalist Aigerim Begimbet.

Thus, the photo exhibition highlighted the values of hard work, integrity, and respect upheld by our University, showcasing the outstanding and honorable contributions of working professionals whose labor truly deserves recognition.
