THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY MADE A SCIENTIFIC AND CULTURAL TRIP TO THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY

Twenty faculty members and staff of our university undertook a scientific and cultural visit to the Republic of Turkey.

The primary objective of the visit was to become acquainted with the advanced practices of Turkey’s leading higher education institutions and research centers, as well as to strengthen academic and institutional cooperation.

This meaningful initiative, which has become an annual tradition of our university, was successfully continued once again. Over the course of a week, faculty members and staff engaged in professional exchange while exploring historically significant sites in the brotherly country, visiting the cities of Istanbul, Ankara, Nevsehir, and Cappadocia.

The delegation began its visit in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, where they became familiar with the academic environment and campus life of Gazi University and Hacettepe University. They also visited key spiritual and historical landmarks of the city, including Anıtkabir, the National Library, Ankara Castle, Hamamonu, and Kızılay.

Meetings were held with the rectors and senior management of both universities. During these discussions, the parties addressed issues related to expanding academic cooperation, developing joint research projects, and enhancing faculty and student exchange programs.

Faculty members shared their impressions, noting:

“We had the opportunity to become acquainted with Turkey’s prestigious universities that place a strong emphasis on science and research. These institutions are particularly advanced in the fields of medicine, science, and technology. Their campuses impressed us with their scale, atmosphere, and international spirit.

This visit allowed us to gain an in-depth understanding of Turkey’s higher education system, experience the culture of university life firsthand, and draw inspiration from new ideas.”

In addition, faculty members and staff met with the Chairman of the University Board of Trustees, Muhittin Simsek. He warmly welcomed the guests who had arrived from the ancestral homeland and expressed his sincere gratitude for their dedication and valuable contributions to the development of the university.

In the coming days, the delegation will travel to the city of Nevsehir to meet with the faculty of Hacı Bektas Veli University. They will also spend time in Cappadocia, observing the region’s famous hot air balloons, and later enjoy two days of guided tours in Istanbul, the heart of Turkey.

Overall, the scientific and cultural visit to Turkey is not limited to professional exchange alone, but represents a meaningful journey filled with cultural enrichment, new experiences, and fresh inspiration for faculty members and staff. This visit lays a solid foundation for future joint projects and academic partnerships, contributing significantly to the enhancement of our university’s international reputation and the promotion of shared values.
