    “THE TRADITIONAL XXXIV SPARTAKIAD BEGINS”

Today, as part of the Winter School program, our educational institution launched the traditional interfaculty Spartakiad among teaching staff and employees. This year, the sports competition is being held for the 34th time.

The purpose of the event is to widely promote a healthy lifestyle among our teaching staff, strengthen their health, and form the university’s teams in various sports.

At the opening ceremony, the Vice-Rector for Social and Cultural Development, Yedil Tolegenov, delivered a welcoming speech. He noted that the organization of the Spartakiad during the students’ vacation period was not accidental, as it provides an excellent opportunity for lecturers to engage in sports activities after months of hard work. He emphasized that although sports are central to the event, the Spartakiad also serves as a platform for strengthening mutual respect, cooperation, friendship, and camaraderie among colleagues. He wished all participants success and good health.

Teams from the university’s faculties, the Turkistan Akhmet Yassawi College, the Kentau campus, and the Rectorate are taking part in the Spartakiad. Participants will compete in seven sports: mini-football, volleyball for women and men, shooting, togyzkumalak, chess, and tug of war.

The competition began today with mini-football matches and will continue until January 29.
