“THE EXEMPLARY LIFE PATH OF ADIL AKHMET: AN ACADEMIC CLUB MEETING WAS HELD”

The Third Meeting of the Academic Club Was Held at Our University

The third meeting of the Academic Club was held at our university. The honorary guest of the event was educator, scholar, diplomat, and public figure Adil Kurmanzhanuly Akhmet. The scholar’s wife, Dariga Knazbekkyzy, also attended the meeting.

Adil Akhmet is a Doctor of Philological Sciences and Professor, a distinguished scholar who has made a significant contribution to the development of linguistics and the higher education system in Kazakhstan, as well as a prominent statesman. Over the years, he has served as rector of leading universities. Through his work in international diplomacy and the Senate of Parliament, he has played an important role in promoting national science and education at the global level.

Opening the meeting, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova addressed the audience:
“Dear students, today our university is honored to welcome a renowned public figure, distinguished scholar, and diplomat, Adil Kurmanzhanuly Akhmet, along with his wife, Mrs. Dariga. Welcome to our university.”She also highlighted Adil Akhmet’s exemplary life journey, scholarly achievements, and innovative diplomatic initiatives.

In his speech, Adil Akhmet noted: “There is a Kazakh saying: ‘One should not refuse an invitation.’ Therefore, having accepted the invitation of Zhanar Amangeldikyzy and consulted with my family, we came here especially. I consider the establishment of Yasawi University in Turkistan—the spiritual capital not only of the Kazakh people but of the entire Turkic world—to be of great value. We visited the new university library, and I was truly impressed. I even compared it with foreign libraries I have personally seen. It is no less impressive than the famous library systems of Washington. I am very pleased, because a library is the heart of knowledge.”

The speaker first emphasized the importance of books in the pursuit of knowledge and science. He donated several books to the university library collection, including The Altai Origins of Ancient American “Indians”, The Geopolitical Landscape of the Global World, Traditions and Taboos of the Turkic World, Lessons of the Century, and other works.

He then spoke in detail about the background and history of writing his books, emphasizing that science has no boundaries and that books remain the primary source of knowledge, setting an example for the younger generation.

In addition, he shared memories of global events and political decisions encountered during his diplomatic career. The discussion also focused on the importance of national unity and fostering cooperation with other countries.

Adil Kurmanzhanuly stated: “Compared to many countries, we are ahead. We treat all nations equally. For the state to develop in the right direction, it is essential to live in harmony with everyone. Yasawi University is a clear example of this today. Not only Kazakh youth but young people from across the Turkic world study here—Kazakhs, Uzbeks, Turks, and Kyrgyz alike. The future of this university is strong, and all conditions have been created for those who seek knowledge.”

He encouraged students to broaden their intellectual horizons and urged them, as future leaders of the country, to pursue education and continuously seek new knowledge.

At the end of the meeting, participants asked questions of interest and received thoughtful answers. Rector Zhanar Temirbekova expressed her gratitude to the guests and presented them with commemorative gifts. As a sign of respect, Adil Akhmet and his wife were honored with traditional chapan robes. All participants took commemorative photos with Adil Akhmet.

Thus, the meaningful and instructive Academic Club meeting left a lasting impression on students and provided strong motivation for their personal development. Adil Akhmet’s exemplary life path and insightful reflections inspired young people to strive for knowledge and scientific achievement.
