MEDIA STUDIO OPENS AT THE UNIVERSITY

At our university, a Media Studio has been opened under the Department of Journalism of the Faculty of Arts, Media and Design. This new creative space for future journalists was established with the support of the Board of Trustees.

The grand opening ceremony was attended by well-known journalist Zhayna Slambek; Deputy of the Turkestan Regional Maslikhat and journalist Galymzhan Yelshibay; Press Secretary of the Akim of Turkestan Region Mira Pernebekkyzy; Director of the Kyzylorda TV Channel Nurbek Amisha; representatives of the Beine.Pro online magazine; podcast producer and author of the Oy-detox YouTube channel Ainell Amirhan; the Turkistan TV Channel team; as well as other media representatives and alumni.

Guests first visited the photo exhibition “Captured History” by Nakhip Shyntemirov, a member of the Republican Public Association “Photo Art,” the creator of the university’s photographic chronicle and a well-known regional photographer.

The exhibition featured more than 60 photographs depicting the university and the city of Turkestan. The images reflected both the old and the modern city, as well as significant historical moments in the university’s development.

Asylzhan Yesimkhanuly, a first-year Journalism student, performed his original poem accompanied by the dombra, creating a festive atmosphere for the audience.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was conducted by Rector Zhanar Temirbekova, Rector’s Representative Naci Genc, Zhayna Slambek, and the founder of the Department of Journalism, Professor Seidulla Sadykov.

In her welcoming speech, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova stated:

“Dear colleagues and dear students! Today marks a historic day for our university. I believe this joyful moment brings great happiness to all of us. First and foremost, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our senior professors and the department staff who contributed to the establishment and development of both the university and the department.

Although the studio is small, it is filled with kindness, creativity, inspiration, and love for the profession. That is why wonderful guests from near and far have come to share this celebration with us. We sincerely thank you all. May our studio spread only positive news across the Turkic world. May it become a platform that shares the university’s achievements with the public and inspires our graduates toward creativity and new discoveries.”

Rector’s Representative Naci Genc also addressed the audience:

“Dear guests, welcome! Today, I would like to express special gratitude to the faculty members of the Department of Journalism. I am thankful to the Board of Trustees and the university staff who initiated the opening of this studio. May our department continue to gain recognition throughout the Turkic world and globally in the field of education.”

    Professor Seidulla Sadykov added:

“I sincerely thank you all. Turkestan is a place that honors those who come with dedication. This land has given me a great gift as well — I have written more than 20 books here. I congratulate you on the opening of the studio and wish you good health, peace, and prosperity.”

Journalist Zhayna Slambek also congratulated the university:

“First of all, I wholeheartedly congratulate Zhanar Temirbekova and her team on the opening of the studio. This university is the first bridge between Kazakhstan and Turkey. It is not only a place of education but also of values and character building. May it continue strengthening diplomatic and cultural ties between our countries. I wish the staff and students great success.

May this place nurture high aspirations and help produce many strong and professional journalists.”

Deputy of the Turkestan Regional Maslikhat Galymzhan Yelshibay and Director of the Information Programs Directorate of the Turkistan TV Channel Ghani Kalmakhan also shared their warm wishes.

The Media Studio’s first project began with a podcast recording. PhD, journalist Moldiyar Yergebekov discussed the topic “How a Podcast Is Created: From Idea to Broadcast” with journalist, podcast producer, and author of the Oy-detox YouTube channel Ainell Amirhan. The discussion was also joined by Nurbek Amisha and Zhayna Slambek.

The newly opened Media Studio is equipped in accordance with modern standards and has strong potential. It includes several functional zones: a TV area for filming television programs and video projects; a podcast studio for recording interviews and audio/video content; a professional audio-visual recording and video editing area; and a dressing room for on-camera preparation.
