INFORMATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL MASTERCLASS BY JOURNALIST ZHAYNA SLAMBEK WAS HELD

Today, our university hosted a masterclass for Journalism students delivered by Zhayna Slambek, recipient of the “Tumar” National Television Award and a media professional, on the topic: “The ‘Barometric’ Role of Social Issues: Analyzing the Topic in an Information and Analytical Program.”

The event was organized at the initiative of the Department of Journalism as part of the ceremonial opening of the university’s Media Studio.

Zhayna Slambek, host and anchor of the weekly information and analytical program “Apta” on the National Television Channel of Kazakhstan, is a highly qualified specialist. She began her career as a correspondent at the Khabar Agency and shared her professional experience with future journalists, speaking about current pressing issues and developments in the media sphere. During the masterclass, the TV presenter emphasized the role of social issues in reflecting the state of society, paying particular attention to the fields of education, healthcare, and science.

The structure of information and analytical programs, working with sources, distinguishing between fact and opinion, and methods of analytical interpretation were also discussed in detail.

“Being a journalist means serving as a golden bridge between the people and the government. It is a challenging path. You should clearly define your goal of becoming a journalist, including the genre you wish to pursue, from this stage. That is how you become a strong professional. In addition, it is essential to cultivate a culture of discussing sharp and relevant issues in any environment,” Zhayna Slambek noted.

The masterclass concluded with a question-and-answer session. The session conducted by Zhayna Slambek, recipient of the Order of Kurmet, was aimed at enhancing students’ professional competence and developing their practical skills in analyzing current and socially significant issues.
