"HOME HOSPITAL SERVICE: UNIVERSITY CLINIC LAUNCHES SOCIAL PROJECT"

Our University’s Clinical-Diagnostic Center continues to implement social projects aimed at serving the public. One such initiative is the “Home Hospital Service” project, designed for children who are bedridden or living with chronic illnesses.

Within the framework of this project, comprehensive medical care is provided directly in the homes of children who find it difficult to visit the clinic. This initiative is particularly aimed at supporting children who, due to their health conditions, are hard to transport to the hospital and are at higher risk of infections.

To implement the project, mobile medical teams of 7–9 people have been formed. Each team includes a neurologist, radiologist, family doctor, specialized doctors depending on the child’s additional conditions, a nurse, a social worker, and a psychologist. The specialists visit patients’ homes to provide the necessary medical services.

Clinic doctors perform comprehensive blood tests at home and conduct examinations using portable ultrasound equipment. In addition, children receive extended neuro-pediatric and general pediatric check-ups, and family members are given individual consultations. This approach ensures that children can receive a full range of comprehensive medical examinations without leaving home.

This initiative is not limited to providing medical care at home or within the scope of palliative assistance. The project is based on a biopsychosocial approach, aiming to offer patients and their families’ comprehensive, high-standard medical services. This innovative model stands out as an effective and exemplary healthcare practice for bedridden pediatric patients.
