THE TRAINING "CULTURE OF TRUST AND COOPERATION IN THE TEAM" WAS HELD

The university hosted a training session titled “Culture of Trust and Cooperation in a Team” as part of the Corporate Breakfast program, which is traditionally held every Tuesday. The session was led by Mustafa Giritlioglu, Vice Rector for Finance and International Relations.

It is worth noting that the Corporate Breakfast program brings together deans, department heads, directors of research institutes, deputy deans, and heads of departments for meetings focused on professional development and team building. Various training seminars covering different topics are organized within the framework of these breakfast meetings.

At the beginning, participants engaged in games aimed at developing trust within the team. Each group reflected on the meaning of trust by choosing three words that described themselves. They then discussed recommended actions to strengthen mutual trust within the team.

During the training, Mustafa Giritlioglu emphasized: “Today's goal is to spark small thoughts, not to introduce major changes. When trust exists, people speak openly during the game. They are not afraid of making mistakes. When trust is absent, a person may appear calm on the outside but hold resentment on the inside. There may be agreement, but not acceptance. Even with results, there is no real team.”

The participants were also introduced to the four pillars of trust within a team.

The first pillar, open communication, involves solving problems together rather than hiding them. The second pillar is clarity of roles, as ambiguity is the enemy of trust. The third pillar is mutual support. And the fourth pillar, a shared goal, means understanding that “it is not my result, but our result.”

The teams then created a “trust map”, answering questions such as: Where is trust strong? Where can it weaken? This exercise helped identify actions that could further strengthen trust.

Thus, the participants analyzed the relationship between trust and cooperation. They expressed gratitude to the speaker for presenting essential topics for effective teamwork through engaging activities.
