“A SEMINAR WAS HELD ON THE TOPIC: ‘FROM CHALLENGES IN COMBATING HIV TO EFFECTIVE CHANGES”

A seminar on the topic "From Challenges in Combating HIV to Effective Changes" was held at our university.

The event was organized by the university in collaboration with the Regional Center for HIV Prevention of the Turkistan Region Health Department in honor of December 1 – World AIDS Day.

The main goal of the seminar was to promote the prevention of socially significant diseases among youth and to develop healthy lifestyle skills.

At the beginning, Akmarzhan Kalmakhan, an epidemiologist from the HIV Prevention Center, spoke about the health risks of drug addiction and provided educational information on AIDS prevention.

Next, a graduate of our university and Asian Games judo champion, athlete Didar Khamza, addressed the audience:

"Dear youth, I urge you to take care of your health and protect it. It is important to get tested for HIV and not be afraid to give blood for analysis."

Additionally, an anonymous person living with HIV spoke at the seminar, sharing information about their health and the harmful effects of the infection. They discussed their experience in managing the infection, described the treatment prescribed by doctors, and answered participants’ questions, encouraging young people to value their health and avoid harmful behaviors that can lead to serious illnesses, such as drug addiction.

Students and volunteers also underwent free rapid HIV testing, with results available within 20 minutes.

At the end of the seminar, students had the opportunity to ask the specialists questions and received detailed answers.
