MUKHITTIN SHIMSHEK – NEW CHAIRMAN OF THE PLENIPOTENTIARY COUNCIL

The Kazakh-Turkish Khoja Ahmed Yasawi University congratulates Professor Mukhittin Shimshek on his appointment as Chairman of the Plenipotentiary Council in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Turkey dated May 22, 2020 No. 2020/244.

Professor, Dr. Muhittin Shimshek was born in 1965 in the Nizip region of the Gaziantep region. He graduated from the University of Marmara in 1985.

In 1987, he received a master’s degree in engineering, in 1988 he graduated from the master’s program at Istanbul University in Management.

Since 1990, he entered doctoral studies in the UK under a grant from the World Bank, which he graduated in 1992.

In 1994 he became an assistant professor, and in 1999 – a professor.

In 1998, he was appointed director of the Center for Applied Technology at the University of Marmara.

From 2003 to 2007 – Advisor to the Minister of Education of Turkey.

In 2007 – Member of the Supervisory Committee of the Council for Higher Education.

In 2008 – Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the Council for Higher Education.

From 2008 to 2012, he was a member of the Higher Commission of the Higher Education Council and a member of the Management Committee.

2013 – re-elected to the Higher Commission of the Council for Higher Education.

Member of the Plenipotentiary Council of Ahmed Yasawi University since 2008. Married, has 2 children.
