    95 YEARS SINCE THE BIRTH OF SHAMSHI KALDAYAKOV: A SONG CONTEST WAS HELD AMONG STUDENTS

    Today, our university held a song contest among students dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of the king of Kazakh waltz, Shamshi Kaldayakov.

    The main goal of the contest was to promote the work of Shamshi Kaldayakov, an outstanding figure in Kazakh songwriting who is immortalized in the hearts of the nation, as well as to hone the talents of young performers.

    The jury included renowned vocalist, educator, and vocal teacher at the Akzhayik Music School Isamiddin Nazimov, choir conductor, musician, and deputy head of education at the Akzhayik Music School, Maksat Sarsenbayev, as well as the chairman of the jury, distinguished cultural figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan, winner of the international competition “Menin Kazakhstanym” named after Shamshi Kaldayakov, Maksat Aitzhanov.

    Nine artists took part in the competition, demonstrating their skills over two rounds.

    It is worth noting that for spiritual inspiration, the participants visited the village of Shamshi Kaldayakov and the composer's personal museum, where they learned more about the life and work of this great man.

    At the end of the competition, participants were presented with letters of appreciation and the winners who gave the best performances were awarded. Based on the results of the competition, the jury recognized Zaremma Sabden, a student of the Faculty of Art, Media, and Design, as worthy of the Grand Prix. First place went to Yedilkhan Nurgazy, who defended the honor of the Faculty of Art, Media, and Design.  Second place went to Gulsezim Zhakypbek, a student of the Faculty of Philology. Third place went to Yulduz Bektemirova, a student of the Faculty of Arts, Media and Design.

    This evening, filled with Shamshi's songs, once again highlighted the power of Kazakh music, strengthening the students' passion for art.
